Deploying a 10 MW Battery Energy Storage System

Nexus PMG was engaged to provide engineering services for a 10 MW Battery Energy Storage System, navigating the complex and variable rate structure of the deregulated Texas electricity market, which draws from more than 650 power generation facilities.

Nexus PMG offered support to deploy 10 MW of battery energy storage in Texas, helping the company interface with the utility and navigate the numerous requirements for permitting, utility connection, and rates.

Nexus PMG supported the company with owners engineering services for a battery storage development platform of projects. Under the scope of services, Nexus PMG provided engineering support including site layout drawings, single line electrical drawings and balance of plant drawings.

With Nexus PMG’s support, the company succeeded in deploying the battery storage system at three different sites in ERCOT-controlled areas, charging at night during off-peak hours and discharging during the day to meet high demand to maximize savings.
