Nexus PMG was engaged to provide engineering services for a Biomass Utilization facility that converts woody biomass into carbon-rich biochar through biomass pyrolysis.
Nexus PMG supported the company during a restructuring to turn around a distressed biosolid facility. Though Nexus PMG was initially engaged to provide distressed asset turnaround support services, the scope increased to full turnaround management including project management consultant services for capital project execution.
Providing Owner’s Engineering services, Nexus PMG supported the company during the construction of a production facility processing 18 MT per day of feedstock to produce high quality biochar.
The team developed Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams for two critical OSBL unit operations, developing commissioning checklists and assisting in the commissioning of the OSBL unit operations.
Additionally, Nexus PMG offered support to review vendor drawing and design packages and assisted the site engineering team with the development of General Arrangement drawings and Performance Specifications for the waste heat dryer. Due to Nexus PMG’s efforts, the facility produced its first biochar product in April 2024.
