Nexus PMG Appoints Jeff Barker as New Director of Corporate Business Development

Nexus PMG is excited to announce that energy industry veteran Jeff Barker has joined our executive leadership team. As the new Director of Business Development, Jeff will oversee all origination and sales activity for Nexus PMG’s Project Delivery Services business.

Jeff brings a wealth of energy transition experience to Nexus PMG. Prior to joining the team, Jeff served as the Director of Business Development for Sustainable Technology Solutions at KBR, Inc., where he led and supervised operations, strategy and business development. Previous experience also includes roles at WorleyParsons; Atlantic, Gulf & Pacific Company, Inc. and Tecnimont. Across his previous work, Jeff supported initiatives to own and operate industrial assets globally, in addition to managing accounts throughout the Americas, Europe and several in Southeast Asia.

“We’re thrilled that Jeff has joined our leadership team anchored by the same passion to decarbonize global infrastructure,” said Nexus PMG CEO Ben Hubbard. “Nexus PMG has entered an unprecedented era of growth providing investors, corporates and developers with low-carbon infrastructure development and advisory services, and we’re thrilled to expand our North American footprint with Jeff alongside.”

The energy generated from much of North America’s new clean energy infrastructure has a frequent buyer: corporates. Over the next decade, corporate investments in low-carbon energy are only anticipated to rise further, reaching hundreds of billions of dollars. But this effort to replace large-scale, aging fossil-fuel facilities and procure renewable energy and fuels in their place brings enormous challenges – and corporates, innovators and operators alike must seek new ways to advance emerging sectors that, to date, have proven to be hard to scale.

Looking to dedicate his time to sectors that reduce carbon intensity, Jeff joined Nexus PMG to bring his wealth of experience to emerging infrastructure markets. With a background in leading business development and commercial activities for global companies across energy; sustainable infrastructure; and engineering, procurement and construction (EPC), Jeff is supporting Nexus PMG’s clients active in the energy transition and sustainable infrastructure markets.

“Moving forward, the excitement is going to be in the acceleration across all energy transition and sustainable sectors,” said Jeff Barker. “We are seeing new ideas and clean technologies entering the market, and more importantly, widespread financial and industry commitment to advancing them. I’m thrilled to be part of a company solely dedicated to finding creative solutions to meet the needs of the market.”

As Nexus’ new Director of Business Development, Jeff will provide Nexus’ clients with tangible experience leading development in emerging markets, including carbon capture and storage (CCS), sustainable aviation fuels (SAF) and waste-to-value (W2V). With a client base maintaining a portfolio of more than $300 billion of energy transition assets under management, Nexus PMG is actively expanding our services across North America to help corporates achieve their renewable energy goals.
